What is a Fractional CMO? (5 important reasons you might need one)

My role as a Fractional CMO is to provide Senior-level marketing expertise and leadership on a contract basis. This allows companies to benefit from my experience and knowledge without needing to hire a full-time employee.

He asked me what my name was. As I confidently uttered ‘Angel’ then extended my hand to greet him I should’ve anticipated his natural response: “What do you do?”

It’s a typical 2nd question we Americans ask. We either stumble over our response, or we spew it like we did our state capitals in the second grade. As I shared with him that I’m a Fractional CMO he looked at me with a smirk and asked me to elaborate. 

I guide an organization’s marketing strategy and marketing teams (and sometimes sales). As a Fractional CMO I allow owners to take a back seat in marketing without losing momentum in their growth trajectory. I bring the knowledge, do the research, analyze the data and guide their teams through the execution of what is needed to continue growing the organization

Overall, the size of the organization that hires a Fractional CMO varies. Typically, though, these leaders are best suited for small to medium-sized organizations that require high-level marketing expertise on a part-time or project basis.

How do I know if I need one?
